Riding lessons for children and young people in St. Johann

Dear horse lovers!

We have finally finished the new playpen for our dairy cows, where we've also allocated space for four horse stalls. Our newly constructed riding grounds are also available all year round, allowing evening riding lessons to take place thanks to the LED spotlights. Your horse is in good hands!

Children who love horses can live out their dreams on a riding holiday here at our farm in St. Johann am Pongau. In addition to riding lessons, your kids will also learn how to handle the horses and their care.

  • The stalls are 12 m². There is a strip light for convenient lighting in the stall.
  • The stalls are fitted with rubber mats and the bedding consists of short-cropped straw or sawdust.
  • The entire outlet is approximately 300 m².
  • There is a saddle cabinet, a washing area and a WC.
  • The horses are given hay produced by us twice a day and the stalls are mucked out as needed.
  • The ride out area covers a 2 km stretch over paved tracks around the farm.
  • The small roads around the farm (approx. 5 km) can also be used.
  • Depending on the weather, the horses are exercised in groups in a set area on the eastern side of the stables.
  • There are two spacious paddocks down from the farm. Here the centuries-old fruit trees cast sufficient shadows on hot days.
  • There is always fresh water available in the paddocks.
  • The riding grounds (50 x 20 metres) can be used throughout the year.

Summer on the Lehenalm

If they like, horses can spend the summer on our mountain pastures in Dorfgastein, where guests are welcome to visit them. Fresh herbs, clean alpine air, spacious grazing areas with sufficient shelter in the forest and the remoteness at the foot of the Bärnkogel and Rauchkögerl helps to strengthen the animals over the summer months.

We take particular interest in older horses that have left their time as sport or recreational horses behind them and wish to live out their twilight years with us. What's more, horse lovers who appreciate both the calmness of a small stable and the close proximity to the district's capital are very welcome.
